Talking regarding Indian Premier League (IPL) It is a twenty20 cricket league in India contested during March or April and May of every year by eight teams representing eight different cities in India. The league was founded by the board of control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2008. The IPL has an exclusive window in ICC Future Tours Programme.

Indian Premier League's origin is quite interesting. It all started when Lalit Modi, the Vice President of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) envisioned the Indian Premier League. It is created along the lines of club football in Europe, specifically the English Premier League. IPL has been launched in response to the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) launched by Zee Group.

IPL 2020 POSTPONED DUE TO DEADLY CORONAVIRUS

The 13th edition of ipl was going to start on 15th April 2020 but due to CORONAVIRUS(COVID-19), it is postponed "for now" after lockdown extension. BCCI is saying that they will examine if a window is available later in the year around September - October if there is any change of dates of the World T20.
